We are a relatively young group with the goal of introducing new players to the game of Diplomacy. Diplomacy is a social strategy game where seven players engage in freeform negotiations with one another, maintaining nuanced relationships while each tries to expand their influence across the map. The game is simple to pick up, but no two games are ever the same. Diplomacy has a rich history dating back to its release in 1959, including the origin of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop game which was first introduced at the 1972 Diplomacy Convention. We are currently enjoying a worldwide resurgence in the game's popularity, which you now have the opportunity to join!
The Diversey Board Gaming Club is a place to meet new people, take a load off, grab a snack, and - of course - play board games! This is an in-person meetup for those who enjoy board/card/role-playing games. Events are held at Sketchbook Brewery most Sundays between 1-4pm. Be aware that trivia starts at 3pm and it can be a bit loud. Feel free to bring your own games that you want to teach and are familiar with. A typical event starts with talking about what we brought that week, and then we break out into smaller groups to play games based on player count and what everyone is interested in. It's common to have 2 or 3 games going at once, and fitting in a second or third game before the event ends at 4pm. Born during lockdown this group aims to provide opportunities to play fun and friendly online games! Sessions are over Zoom and we play things like Werewolf, games on Board Game Arena like King of Tokyo, Incan Gold, Just One, Coup, 6 Nimmt, and other digital versions of board games including Codenames, Fake Artist and Gartic Phone. A group for gamers living and working around the South-East London area. We host a number of weekly events across each month at The Blackheath Newbridge Club. Weekday Evening Gaming @ The Blackheath Newbridge Club. - alternating Tuesday/Wednesday evenings (19:00 – 22:30). Saturday Afternoon Gaming @ various venues - final Saturday in the month (13:00 – 23:30). Sunday Afternoon Gaming @ Meantime Brewery (Greenwich) - 2 weekends after each Saturday event (12:00 19:00). These Meetups gives us a chance to meet & play games across an extended period, and perhaps bring out some of the more in-depth titles that may not be suited to a weekday evening. \-\-\-\-\- So what games do we tend to play? As a group, we have a vast array of board & card games. These are kindly brought along by our group members to each of our organised events. People are free to pick and choose what they prefer to play on the night or talk in advance via the message board. Our scope is quite varied in that we play, anything from the 'lighter' games/classics like 'Ticket to Ride', 'Carcassonne', 'Settlers of Catan', 'Dominion'; on to the 'heavier' end of the spectrum such as 'Battlestar Galactica', 'Dead of Winter', 'Viticulture', 'Orléans'... The group is casual and open to all, we can have just social hangouts or even board games, join pub quizzes , organise trips, you name it. You don’t need to live around here of course to join. The main reason to start this is that most social groups meet in central London, so I thought I’d start one for those who want to join a casual, friendly group in this part of the town and hang out in our area’s lovely pubs.
Looking for a Chicago board game group that plays games with deeper strategy than Pandemic and Codenames? You've come to the right place! We play mid to heavyweight games (hence the name). How is this possible? Everyone signs up for a game in advance and watches a brief tutorial in advance of the meeting so we don't waste time learning the basics. You're not left wondering if you'll have a group to play with and what game you'll play, and you get a great breadth of games to play! Games will be listed in advance with available open spaces so you have the certainty of meeting some folks and playing a particular game with other players, and players have an interest in providing themes and offering up games to bring to events. We use a google sign-up sheet that is linked in each invite, but we inform the schedule with your feedback and requests. When you sign up for a game, tutorial videos are linked in the google sheet since you need to come with at least a basic understanding of what's going on to meet the time constraints, which are 6p-10p. Lastly, we support the venue (Fat Cat) since they're letting use their space for free. If you're a board game geek into mechanics, design, and looking for similar folks to have drinks/snacks and play games with, you've come to the right place!

Join us for our weekly night of board games in Long Island City at Focal Point! We're a friendly group of people who play games every Thursday. We formerly met at Bierocracy from 2017 through 2021 and a few different venues after that. Now, we’re at a wonderful place called Focal Point! Focal Point is a chill and relaxed bar/brewery with lots of space for gaming. The bar also has an outdoor tent and open outdoor tables for nice weather days. The venue does not serve its own food, but you can bring in any outside food you like and there are multiple good dinner options in the surrounding area! At the meetup, we play a variety of games: worker placement, social deduction, engine builders, party games, area control, and more. If these terms sound completely new to you, no worries - we are always glad to teach. You might just learn something and have a little fun in the process :) Feel free to bring any of your own games but also don’t worry if you don’t. We have plenty of games to go around! January of '17 we went to a beautiful All Inclusive Adult 5 star resort in Cuba. In January/February of 2018 we cruised the Caribbean and many got solo cabins. We had an amazing time. We had our amazing Mediterranean Cruise on October 20th of 2019 and managed to get in an All Adults Resort in the Dominican Republic early in '22 where a lot of people made great new friends. We do our very best to set up meetups in affordable and safe environments and we will always do our best to introduce you to our other members.
