Take all 18 balls (6 red, 6 blue, 6 yellow)and roll them into the playing tray until they all sit in a hole. Decide who is yellow (yellow tiddly wink hidden in one hand). Yellow player goes first. Play consists of either moving one of your colored balls or a red ball into an adjacent hole, or of jumping one of your balls over either a red ball or an opponents ball (which captures it). If you can capture, you must. First person to capture 4 reds wins. Playing without the 'if you can capture, you must' rule actually makes this more tactical, otherwise most moves are pre-ordained.
