LE IEV DV MONDE dedi A Monsieur le Comte de Viuone, Premier Gentilhomme de la Chambre du Roy, par son treshumble tres obeissant Seruiteur Du Val, A Paris chez l'auteur P. Du Val d'Abbeville, Auec Priuillege du Roy 1645 Et se vendent Rue St. Jacques a l'Esperance. The game contains two maps in the centre, one of the Old World, one of the New, the latter showing but naming the Southern Continent. The first square shows the Polar World, with small, individual maps of the 'Terres Arctiques' and the 'Terres Antarctiques'. The publication of a new set of rules, a Nouvelle Explication de jeu du monde (Paris 1650) suggests that the game remained popular over a number of years.
