Al-Andalus (Moors & Christians Wars) Introduction This game represents the fascinating history of the Iberian Peninsula in the era of so-called "second Taifa kingdoms" around mid-twelfth century. When the domain Almoravids began to fall, arose the second Taifa kingdoms (1144-1170), which were later conquered by the Almohades Arabs. In this period of time raised new Muslim kingdoms that fought with the Christian princes of the north. Muslim Spain bordered with the kingdoms of Portugal, Leon, Castile and Aragon. Fighting and looting was constant and borders and kingdoms were changed continuously. The players represent various Arab and Berber families who struggle for the conquest of Al-Andalus. The players take roll of kings (emirs) who have small independent kingdoms called Taifas. Each player chooses a Muslim kingdom to start its expansion through Al Andalus conquering more provinces and increasing prestige. Prestige is obtained throughout the game by conquering and by developing Art, Culture and Science in the kingdoms. The player which get more Prestige at the end is the winner. Components Board south of the Iberian Peninsula counters for armies, fleets, towers, castles and cattle, Colored markers for kingdoms 50 cards of troops, 40 cards of siege, 30 cards of Christian kingdoms and Almohad 30 cards of legacy (which combine leisure and culture, art and science). Special cards: kidnapping, ambassadors, spies, messengers. Dinars in coins of 1, 2 and 5. Al-Andalus ( Las guerras de Taifas) Introducci n Este juego representa la apasionante historia de la Pen nsula Ib rica en la poca de los llamados segundos reinos de Taifas en torno a mediados del siglo XII. Cuando el dominio almor vide empez a decaer, surgieron los llamados segundos reinos de taifas (1144-1170), que fueron posteriormente sometidos por los almohades. En este periodo de tiempo surgieron nuevos reinos musulmanes que luchaban con los pr ncipes cristianos del norte. La Espa a musulmana hacia frontera con los reinos de Portugal, Le n, Castilla y Arag n. La lucha y el pillaje era constante y las fronteras y reinos se modificaban continuamente. Los jugadores representan a diferentes familias rabes y ber beres que luchan por la conquista de Al-Andalus. Objetivo Los jugadores representan a reyes (emires) que tienen bajo su poder peque os reinos independientes llamados Taifas. Cada jugador elige un reino musulm n para iniciar su expansi n a trav s de Al Andalus. Gana el jugador que al finalizar la partida tenga mayor prestigio en el marcador. El prestigio se obtiene a trav s de conquistas y desarrollo cultural del reino.
