Chess Grand Prix is a fast-paced racing board game that transforms classic chess movement rules into an exciting competitive race experience. Players take control of racing cars on a specially designed 50-space track inspired by a chessboard. Instead of traditional chess gameplay, movement is driven by dice rolls that activate chess piece abilities—Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen, and King—each offering unique movement patterns on the track. The goal is not checkmate, but speed, strategy, and consistency. Players must complete 3 full laps while collecting points through racing positions, Pit Stop cards, and special action cards. Strategic decisions are crucial: players must balance risk and reward, choose when to use advantage cards, and manage mandatory Pit Stop visits that can change the course of the race. Key Features: Chess-inspired movement system (all piece movements are integrated into racing mechanics) Dice-driven tactical racing gameplay Card-based strategy system with 64 action cards and 24 Pit Stop cards Mandatory Pit Stop mechanic introducing risk management Dynamic track with special spaces and tactical shortcuts Point-based victory system rewarding both speed and strategy Objective: Complete 3 laps of the race track while collecting the highest total score from race positions, cards, and bonuses. The player with the highest score at the end of the final lap wins the Chess Grand Prix. Design Purpose: Chess Grand Prix is designed as an engaging way to teach chess movement rules through gameplay, especially for younger players. By integrating chess mechanics into a racing environment, players naturally learn how each chess piece moves while enjoying a competitive and fun board game experience. —description from the designer
