Imperium Card: The Third Servile War is a historical strategy card game set during the Roman slave uprising led by Spartacus (73–71 BCE). Players recreate the conflict between the Roman Republic and rebel forces through a flexible, sandbox-style system focused on battle simulation and strategic command. Unlike traditional board games, Imperium does not rely on a fixed rulebook or turn structure. Instead, players construct armies using curated sets of unit and command cards representing historical forces, then deploy them across a chosen battlefield formation. Tactical positioning, timing of engagement, and adaptive decision-making determine the flow of each encounter. The system emphasizes player-driven interpretation of history. Engagements can follow historical outcomes or diverge into alternate scenarios, allowing for both structured recreations and open-ended strategic exploration. Victory conditions are scenario-based and may include: Elimination of opposing forces Control of key battlefield positions Fulfillment of campaign objectives inspired by historical events Imperium Card is designed as a modular system. This set can function independently or be combined with other expansions to create larger and more complex historical simulations. —description from the publisher
