In the 9th solar month of the year 2315, the abandoned merchant vessel Antares drifted inside Saturn s orbit, and was coupled to the Orbital Dry Dock station, Hermes. The crew of the Hermes was unaware that 80 years before, the Antares had encountered a hostile alien life form. The alien had been brought on board when its hibernation crysalis was mistakenly collected as an ancient relic from an archaeological site on a small moon near the Alpha Centauri cluster. Data indicates that the Antares had arrived under low power, and sensors and scans did little to confirm its condition. Once the ship was docked, and its main airlock breached, the crew of the Hermes encountered the alien life from. During the years of travel from the Alpha Centauri cluster the alien had multiplied. External communications went dark a few minutes after initial contact. Using the collected audio and video download data from on board the facility most of the information has been pieced together. What follows is a record of the events that occurred during the final hours on the Hermes while the crew tried desperately to lockdown the facility, and escape. Play out the crew's final hour as they attempt to secure the facility from the alien swarm. Antares: Breach is geared for easy solitaire play, but can be expanded to up to 8 players. Antares: Breach is a themeatic, space horror game. The actions of the crew are up to you, and the choices you make may well determine who survives, and escapes the overrun Hermes facility, and who falls victim to the alien lifeform. Antares: Breach is the second game in the series. Telling the next chapter of the story of the doomed ship Antares, and its alien cargo. Antares: Breach is playable solo or co-op. Game experience** Build** the Hermes using the Cabin and Corridor tiles. The facility must have all corridor ends connected to Cabins. Different builds of the Hermes offer different levels of difficulty. Choose** your crew selecting one side from each of the eight crewmember cards. Each crewmember has their own unique ability and choice of two starting locations. Complete** the Comms, Dry Dock, Systems, & Mainframe Access objectives. Spedning an action in the Comms, Dry Dock Ops, Systems, or Mainframe Access cabins will advance the matching counter 1 spot forward. Use of the Air Ducts can expidite movement through the facility, but the alien lifeform has found them to be useful as well. Collect** valuable Ammo and Stationary Guns from the Armory, or Medkits from Medical to kill aliens or survive an attack. Avoid** the alien lifeforms. The lifeform has multiplied diring its trip aboard the Antares, and they swarm the Hermes relentlessly. After each action performed a Scan card must be drawn which will indicate if the aliens attack, or if the crew is safe for one more round. Escape** if the crew manages to complete all objects they may regroup in the Escape Pod, and execute the Delta Launch Code to escape the Hermes Facility. Game Play** Each crewmember may perform one of the following actions: Move** to an adjacent Cabin, Corridor or the Airducts *(Crewmembers may move into a location with an alien(s) if they have enough Ammo)* Move an Objective forward**, if a civillian is in an appropriate Cabin Collect** one Ammo or Stationary Gun from the Armory or other location if dropped/placed *(Max Ammo of 1 for some civilians/3 for Marines)* Trade** Items with another Crewmember in the same Cabin or Corridor Place** a stationary Gun in a Corridor Drop** any or all Items Lay the Crewmember's matching meeple down to indicate they have taken their action for the round.
