in feudal Japan, power is not taken - it is earned. MEIYO is a strategic board game for 2-4 players in which rival Houses maneuver Samurai, summon Yokai spirits, and deploy Ninja across contested Provinces over four Seasons. For asymmetric Houses each bring a distinct playstyle and unique patron Yokai to the board, competing for control of a shifting, folklore-rich landscape. Victory belongs to the most honorable House. Meiyo (Honor) accumulates across 12 rounds and is never spent, but earned through battles, governing productive Provinces, and controlling the Capital. But each path carries a temptation that corrupts it. Reach for supernatural power or shadowy subterfuge and your path to honor suffers. This tension between Giri (duty) and Ninjo (desire) lives within every decision you make. MEIYO is a print-and-play game. 3 A-4 sheets for the board, 2 sheets for House Cards, Season Wheel, quick guide, 1 sheet for moveable tokens. The land remembers what you chose. —description from the designer
