In his final manuscript, William Shakespeare recorded a secret list of extraordinary performers chosen for the greatest theatrical masterpiece in history. Now, he challenges his devoted students to uncover their identities. As time runs short, William will gradually reveal cryptic clues and hidden criteria, while the students must work together to deduce the three chosen characters before the final curtain falls. Shakespeare is a deduction game where players uncover three hidden characters chosen by William Shakespeare for his legendary play. Each of 24 character cards features a male or female figure holding a book, knife, or goblet, dressed in red, yellow, blue, or green. Using 116 hint cards with conditions on these traits, players deduce secrets via cryptic clues. Modes include Standard Cooperative (2-9 players, team vs. time), Competitive (2-5, race to deduce opponent's secrets), Solo (optimize turns for grades A-E), plus Campaign (50 levels) and Mission (5 combo challenges). Components: books, scrolls, tokens, deduction boards. Perfect for logic lovers. Standard Cooperative Game In Standard Cooperative (2-9 players), one silent Master holds the book with three secret character numbers (1-8). Students get hint cards: plan silently (play/discard to fill Planning Zone with 3), discuss to pick 2 for evaluation. Master places one in GOOD REGION and one in BAD REGION, discard corresponding time token to answer the card in GOOD REGION. Build deductions over rounds using regions, boards, and tokens. Guess all three correctly to win together; wrong guess loses for all. When TIME run out, player have to guess. Add one of 50 level-cards (A-D types) for difficulty. Campaign: sequential levels; Mission: paired cards. Standard Competitive Game Standard Competitive (2-5 players) pits players against each other to fastest deduce the clockwise target's three secret numbers (1-8, overlapping neighbors). Setup: Each gets a book with three face-down tokens (one shared left/right). Rounds: Simultaneously add 3 time tokens to reserve, ask a question (draw 3 hints, play one affordable via red cost to target; they answer true/false, pay green/red), or guess (correct wins; wrong eliminates you). Undefeated answer for others. 2-player variant: each picks own secrets, one refuse chance. Use deduction boards/tokens to track traits. Adjust difficulty: 6-16 characters, vary starting time. Solo Game Setup mirrors cooperative with 8 scrolls/characters (1-8); shuffle 8 hints face-up in a row. Each turn: Select 3 consecutive hints. For each, identify exactly 3 matching characters (true to condition), place 1 time token on each. Consolidate multiples to 1 per character, move all to overlying scrolls. Remove 1 from lowest scroll; add 1 to TurnCount (left of row). Discard/replace all hints. Repeat until any scroll hits 3+ tokens. Score TurnCount: 0-4=E, 5=D, 6=C, 7=B, 8=A. Optimize efficient deductions to beat your grade; pure logic vs. self.
