Hispania describes 1,500 years of Spanish and Portuguese history, from 320 BC to 1200 AD. During this period, many peoples and empires invaded Hispania. Many of these peoples or empires, called Nations in this game, attempted to colonize or conquer Hispania. But the new conquerors were unable to maintain their power for long. In turn, they were defeated by other invaders. The game ends after the great migrations, at the dawn of the Reconquista of Muslim Hispania by its Catholic half. In Hispania, each player controls several different Nations. During the game, the player accumulates victory points with each of their Nations. The player with the most victory points will be victorious at the end of the game! During the game, a series of historical events unfold, which players will see represented by the various appearances on the scene of the nations that intervened in the history of Hispania, as well as numerous events that will occur over the course of the game. —description from the designer
