Solder is a pure placement game of unification between two players – Black and White – played on an initially empty board – e.g. a size 6 hexhex board or a size 11 square board. Players only place stones of their own color, and only onto empty cells. On the very first turn of the game, Black places 1 stone. From then on – stating with White – players take turns placing 2 stones each. Each individual placement must be adjacent to an even number of friendly groups. If, and only if, you cannot make both placements, you pass your entire turn. When the players pass in succession, the game is over and the winner is the player with fewer groups. —description from the publisher
