Description

Pantheon of Nations is a strategic conflict board game for 2 to 4 players, in which each player controls a nation guided by a powerful god-avatar. Each nation is associated with distinct elements, units, and abilities that define its strategic identity and available options. Players issue orders by spending a limited shared resource called Faith. During the order phase, players secretly assign commands to their units, committing to a plan without knowing the choices of their opponents. These orders are later revealed and resolved in sequence. Orders allow players to move units across a hex-based map, recruit forces, attack enemies, activate special abilities, or protect their god. A central element of the game is hidden planning and anticipation. Because players must commit to actions in advance, incorrect predictions can cause players to restrict their own options, misposition units, or expose critical pieces at the wrong time. In contrast, successfully anticipating opponents intentions is strongly rewarded, often resulting in highly efficient turns and decisive advantages on the battlefield. As a result, players are required to think not only about their own plans, but also to continuously evaluate and predict the strategies of one or multiple opponents. The game also features Blessing cards, which are granted to the player who wins a bidding contest. These cards introduce temporary rule changes or powerful effects for the current round, allowing the winning player to shift the balance of the game and capitalize on successful anticipation and risk-taking. Military forces consist of infantry and cavalry units equipped with different weapon types, including swords, spears, and bows. Each weapon functions differently in combat, with distinct ranges and effectiveness. Gods themselves play a critical role in the conflict, providing unique elemental abilities that influence the battlefield. If a player s god is destroyed, that player is immediately eliminated from the game. Victory is achieved by being the last player whose god remains in play. With asymmetric factions, variable player powers, secret order programming, and high levels of player interaction, Pantheon of Nations emphasizes strategic foresight, commitment to decisions, and the consequences of both successful and failed predictions. —description from the designer
