In Under the Sand, players are members of an expedition. The role of lead explorer will shift around as much as the dunes surrounding your dig sites. Each turn a new leader will assign explorers to take a turn, alliances will rise and fall depending on who is selected when. Cards will shift around the deck and between players. Hold onto cards too long and you may be cursed! This worker-placement style game plays in just 18 cards and with up to 4 players. Play by putting your thumb on the action to show it s been taken. With only 4 actions per tablet card competition will be fierce! Each new tablet changes the game and the actions available. The game ends after the round when the 4th Tablet is revealed. Players reveal their hands and score points based on Treasure collected. Any player who has 1 or 2 Curses discards 1 Treasure for each Curse. Players then score the points printed on their remaining Treasure cards, the player with the most points wins. Dig in and explore the game as the players seek to keep themselves from falling for traps not only from the deck, but by other players as well. Pyramids may rise and fall under the onslaught of wind and sand, but who knows what depths the players may find as they search. —description from the publisher
