Description

TETRA FLIP is a solo card game using 2 standard 52 decks of cards. The game is about placing cards into a grid by sliding them down from the top of the columns to the bottom (like the game Tetris), trying to create sets so you can remove them from the grid and score points. A set is a pattern of 4 or more of the same suit, rank, or ascending/descending sequential runs. The deck is shuffled with half the cards faceup and half facedown. Use the Flip action wisely to flip all cards in your hand to the opposite face at the best time. The game is played in rounds and at the start of each round a market of cards is available for you to purchase pairs of cards from. These pairs are "attached" to each other and must be placed into the grid adjacent to one another. You use facedown cards from your hand to pay for these cards in the market. If you leave cards unpurchased in the market at the end of a round, they will enter your grid facedown, causing a hindrance. The game ends in 1 of 3 ways: If you are forced to place a card outside of your 4 by 4 grid, you immediately lose the game. If you end a round with no cards left in your grid, you immediately win the game. If all 8 rounds are complete, you score 1 point per card in your score pile, however, you lose 1 point per remaining faceup card and 2 points per remaining facedown card in your grid. If you score at least 1 point, you win. —description from the designer
