Description

Blood is a miniatures skirmish game representing the conflict of gothic monsters and innocent humans. It is designed to build abilities in a cinematic fashion to ensure that characters can only use their most powerful abilities as the story reaches its climax. It is inspired by the films of Hammer Horror and classic Universal Studios. Blood is a gothic horror skirmish game. It needs a handful of D6, a bit of terrain and a bunch of minis representing peasants, vampires and werewolves. It has a medium models count and with a handful of terrain and should play out in around 90 minutes. Blood is inspired by Hammer horror and classic universal movies. Hunted humans, ravenous werewolves and sinister vampires are central to the game. The intention is to create a system where abilities are only available once they become "powered up" in narrative appropriate manners. Essentially the intention is to re-create the fact that in movies neither the monster nor the hero will employ their most powerful attacks at their first meeting. Here, Dracula can't fly in and rip off Van Helsing's head in the first five minutes, nor can the vampire's castle be fire bombed sight unseen. Play revolves around resource management, the various forces pick up, manage and spend the resources that power their abilities in narrative different ways. For example, Vampires work in a strict hierarchy from thralls through brides to fathers while humans pick up powers for dying since only the last girl gets access to the greatest powers. —description from the publisher
