Fantasy adventure patrons compete with one another to see who can secure the most gold from the nearby dungeon. They will send parties of foolhardy adventures into a dungeon to face different challenges. There are Quests, Traps, and Monsters to confront. But the patrons themselves will not risk their lives and souls. After all, that dungeon is a Deathtrap! Featuring variable systems for resolving different challenges, Deathtrap allows players to take on variable levels of randomness from Combat dice rolling to Traps where you push your luck and branching Quests which require timing and precision. Heroes are hired at the inn and equipped for their expeditions. When they return, they gain levels and look to join other expeditions, now able to command greater shares of the loot. —description from the designer
