Description

Contact Unknown is a high-intensity, modern naval warfare simulation for 1 player (or 2 in co-op). You take command of an modern destroyer — the technological backbone of the modern Navy. Your mission takes you into the most volatile flashpoints on Earth, where the line between a routine provocation and all-out war is razor-thin. The Gameplay Concept: Forget traditional naval games where every enemy is immediately visible. In Contact Unknown, your greatest enemy is uncertainty. A glowing blip on your radar could be a harmless trawler, an aggressive maritime militia, or a lethal hypersonic missile. Identification is Mandatory: You are prohibited from opening fire until you have a verified firing solution. Use your radar, shipborne helicopters, and passive sensors to pierce the "Fog of War." As the commander of a single destroyer, you are on your own. Manage your Action Points (AP) wisely: Will you spend them on a precision scan, a high-stakes evasive maneuver, or a massive missile strike from your VLS cells? High-Tech Defense: When the missiles fly, every second counts. Rely on your SAM interceptors for long-range defense, or pray for the signature roar of your CIWS as a final line of protection. Key Highlights: Global Hotspots: Operate in the "hottest waters in the world"—from the South China Sea to the Red Sea. Every region offers unique tactical challenges and political stakes. Lethal Asymmetry: Face more than just enemy warships. Contend with drone swarms, maritime insurgencies, and silent, predatory submarines. Why It Thrills Contact Unknown captures the crushing pressure on the bridge of a modern warship. It is a game of nerves: Do you wait one more second to positively identify the contact, or do you fire before the enemy reaches you? Every decision matters; every missile is precious. —description from the designer
