RUUNS is an abstract strategy game for 2–3 players played on a modular board that changes with every game. Players take on one of three colors and draw triangular rune tiles blindly from a bag, placing them onto a shared board that develops over the course of play. Each placement reshapes the available space and influences future decisions, ensuring that no two games unfold the same way. On each turn, a player draws a rune and must place it on the board according to specific placement rules, whether the piece matches their own color or an opponent s. Runes must connect to existing pieces of the same color through defined contact points, allowing players to build scoring clusters while also disrupting their opponents formations. In two-player games, the unused color acts as a neutral blocking element, adding additional tactical considerations. Players can win in one of two ways: by completing a continuous path connecting their two starting positions for an immediate victory, or by scoring the most points when no further legal moves remain. Points are earned by forming connected clusters of runes, with larger groups and certain configurations yielding higher scores. The game ends when the board is full or no legal placements remain, and the player with the highest total score wins. —description from the designer
