Description

Conniving Coyotes is a 2-4 player card-shedding, bluffing game by Aaron Frias and Richard Codopony. Based on the folk tale of the prairie dogs who looked to the sky for rain, only to be devoured by the coyote while they were distracted. At the beginning of the game, each player is dealt a secret role, either a prairie dog or the lone coyote. Players are dealt a hand of cards and will play a set or run that beats the previous set or run played before it, hoping to shed their cards as quickly as possible. If they can't beat the current set or run, then they must play a coyote card if they have one, which devours the current highest and lowest card from those played. Then the rest of the played cards are discarded and play continues, either till all three coyotes are played or a player runs out of cards in their hand. The cards remaining in the middle at the end of the round is scored for the prairie dogs. After three rounds, the prairie dogs win if they were able to gather more points than the coyote player. But if the coyote players wins, the players simultaneously vote on the player they thinks is the coyote. If found, the coyote player loses and the prairie dogs steal the win. —description from the publisher
