Guilds of Valoria is a 2-player deck-building area control game that is set in the world of Valoria. Players take turns buying new character cards from the marketplace by discarding cards from their hand to strengthen their deck to conquer 3 locations to win the game. Each turn, players can deploy characters to any locations, and if a player controls more characters than his opponent at a location at the end of the round, he gets to place an influence token onto the location. Once a player has 3 influence tokens at a location, he claims that location. The player who claims 3 locations first is the winner.
