Named after Emma Woodhouse's estate in Jane Austen novel Emma, the 2025 Hollandays freebie game is a match-making trick-taking game for 4 or 5 players. Each trick is won by two players, who each contributed a card to a Match. Each player scores points for the quality of the Match - the best Match being two cards of the same suit - as well as the points on the other player's card. At the end of each hand, the player with the lowest score becomes The Meddler, who can break the normal match-making rules. And in the deck lurks The Scoundrel, who will always win the trick. The art is drawn from Chris Hammond's charming, lively illustrations for the 1898 edition of Emma and 1899 edition of Sense and Sensibility.
