Description

Bulldog is a press-your-luck gambling game for 3-8 players, using the Blossom Deck. The game gets its name from bulldogging, which is paying money to stay in when your hand is not worth saving. The game was created for a short story set in the Dearworth Valley. In some respects, Bulldog plays the role of Poker in the Dew Point universe. OBJECTIVE: Your goal is to winnow your hand down to the fewest points, while guessing if your opponents can do the same. Or get out early, if you think your cards can t win! GAMEPLAY: Players will play six rounds, collecting faceup cards in their boards. Each player starts with four cards, and will receive five more from the deck. Players receive cards one at a time, and on your turn you have the option to Fold, Pay, or Play. When you "Play", you may cancel cards received by cancelling them with cards from their hands. Paired cards can cancel each other automatically, and players may also play safeties or multiple cards from their hands to cancel cards from their board. WINNING: Your final score is the cumulative pip total of the cards left on your board after six rounds, and the aim is to achieve the lowest score. So the player who finishes with the lowest valued board is the winner, with the best possible score being zero points. COMPONENTS: - The Blossom Deck - roughly 100 chips for each player THE BLOSSOM DECK: The Blossom Deck is a six-suited deck from James Earnest and Crab Fragment Games, and is set the Dew Point universe. The deck consists of 54 cards in six suits ranked Ace through nine. The suits are divided into three colors, each with "night" and "day" versions, allowing the deck to be split into halves, thirds, or sixths. Two games were specifically created for the Blossom Deck: Bulldog (a gambling game for 2-8 players) and Cowards (a gambling game for 2 players). —user summary
