Pixels is a family-friendly, team-based party game focused on presenting keywords using the titular pixels. At the start of each round, team leaders secretly decide how many cubes they ll need to show the shared keyword. A lower bid gives a team the right to present first, but if they fail, they lose that privilege to their opponents, who can then try to show the keyword using more cubes. The pixels are used both to present the keywords and as points that flow between teams during the game. Players can build static pixel art or animate small scenes on the board to help their teammates guess the word. Presenter can also use a "hot and cold" scale to respond to their teammates questions, giving them hints about how close they are to guessing the keyword. The keywords cards also include optional bonus conditions — completing them earns the team an extra point. The game lasts for 11 rounds. The team that collects the most points wins. Pixels includes several different gameplay modes that affect the level of challenge. For example, a mode with a limited number of questions the team can ask, or "Pixels Kids", which allows younger players to join the fun. Pixels also features a 2–3 player mode, in which players face the game itself — trying to guess as many keywords as possible while their pool of cubes shrinks with each round. —description from the designer
