Description

Sepulchre is a modular card-based board game for 2 to 4 players. Keeping a tight balance of strategy and the luck of the draw, Sepulchre is a cemetery-themed competitive game that encourages aggressive tactics where the tides of fortune can turn dramatically. The first player to fill their grave with three skeletons wins. Working from a base hand of seven coffin-shaped cards, players use three types of cards to build skeletons, decay the skeletons being built by opponents, and "Cemetery Cards" which offer a wide range of opportunities -- most are one of a kind in the play deck. The board consists of a central square where the card draw pile sits, four places on each side accommodate a grave player board and a coffin-shaped discard board. The visual effect is a radial pattern of coffins on the table. On each player's turn, skeleton cards are played and skeleton pieces are added to their respective grave. Decay cards may be played to take away pieces from opponent's skeletons, and depending on the Cemetery Card, additional cards may be played to exercise strategies to win. A handful of Cemetery Cards may be played in response to another player's actions on that player's turn, allowing for defensive measures, stall tactics, etc. —description from the publisher
