Description

Le Brise Neurones is a cooperative trivia quiz game for 4–8 players. All team members work together to answer multiple-choice questions while managing a shared pool of neuron tokens. The objective is to keep at least one neuron token by the end of the game; if the team ever runs out of neurons (a Burn Out), they immediately lose. The game is played over three consecutive rounds (Brainstorming, Collective Telepathy, and Synaptic Storm), each introducing a unique wagering twist. Round 1 – Brainstorming: The team draws a multiple-choice question card (with one or more correct answers). Players discuss and then place 1–4 neurons on the answer options they believe are correct (tokens can be spread across multiple options). Once bets are placed, the card is revealed. Neurons wagered on correct answers are returned to the pool, while those on wrong answers are lost. If the team finds all the correct answers without any wrong bets, they recover double the wagered tokens. This round continues for 6 questions or until a Burn Out. Round 2 – Collective Telepathy: The team draws another multiple-choice question card (now exactly one answer is correct). One player is chosen as the active player and secretly selects two answer options without telling the others. The rest of the team discusses and then wagers 1–4 neurons on one of those two options. The card is revealed: if the chosen answer is correct, the team recovers twice the wagered tokens; if incorrect, they lose those tokens. This round also has 6 questions or ends on a Burn Out. Round 3 – Synaptic Storm: Four Neural Link cards are placed face-up on the table. Ten question cards (each with a question on top and a number of neurons on its bottom) are arranged around them. The team tackles one Neural Link at a time. For each link, the group answers all attached questions in sequence. If all answers for a link are correct, that link is validated and play moves on to the next link. If any answer is wrong, the link immediately fails and the team loses all the neurons shown on the question cards of that link (potentially causing a Burn Out). The team continues until all four links are resolved or a Burn Out ends the game. At the end of the game, if at least one neuron remains, the team wins; the remaining neurons serve as the team s score (with descriptive tiers like barely surviving up to brain genius depending on how many are left). If zero remain, the team has suffered a Burn Out and loses. The game emphasizes cooperation, discussion, and strategic betting: players must balance confidence in each answer against the risk of losing neurons, working together through all three rounds. —description from the designer Le Brise Neurones est un jeu coop ratif de quiz destin 4–8 joueurs.
