"K nigarde" is a German word meaning 'king's guard'. During the medieval period, the king's guard was an elite and highly trained group of men which composed a kingdom's first line of defense. Today, many countries still have such special troops as part of their armed forces -- though perhaps under a different name. K nigsgarde has been written to enable the serious wargamer to recreate as realistically as possible the days of chivalry when knights and peasants alike fought for their king." K nigsgard is a skirmish level miniatures ruleset suitable for the High and Late Middle Ages. Combatants are represented by peasants, men at arms, and knights (foot and mounted) with combat modifiers for training, weapons, and armor. Limited rules for siege weapons, gunpowder, jousting, and naval warfare are included.
