Dogfight 1916
1972
Published by Taranis Games
Dogfight 1916 simulates aerial combat on the Western Front during the First World War. Each flier tries to shoot down his opponent by manoeuvering his aircraft behind and above the enemy, then firing. Dogfight 1916 is played in rounds. A round consists of each player choosing a manoeuvre card in secret, turning it face up, plotting the manoeuvre card on the chart, and indicating each aircraft's altitude on the respective altimeter "cube". When one aircraft gets behind the other he may fire using one of two firing procedures: either from below the defender OR from above the defender and exhausting ammunition either way. Play continues until one aircraft is destroyed.
