Description

October 9, 1982 Old Friend, I know we have not spoken in a long time, and it's probably unsettling to receive a strange package from me out of the but I'm at my whit's end. I've been assigned a cold case, the disappearance of Mary Foster from back in 71. In this package is a strange book sent station earlier this year and just addressed "In Loving Memory of Mary Foster". I was at first inclined to dismiss it as the work of some crank, but I've been puzzling over it these last few months and I am more and more convinced that it is genuine and holds the clues to finding out what happened to her. I am sending it to you because every page is a damned riddle within a maddening riddle, and it has utterly defeated me. I need your help. Mary Foster needs your help. The Eldritch Diary is an escape game consisting of 30+ interlocking puzzles that tell the story of the disappearance of Mary Foster. Solving it will take anywhere from an evening for a group of clever detectives or a week of evenings for a lone-wolf. The game includes the diary, ephemera, and a set of envelopes containing additional artifacts to unlock. You will need to think laterally to solve the mystery of Mary's disappearance. In case players get stuck, clues are provided in the accompanying case notes of Detective Mike Ross. —description from the publisher
