Tengi is a shogi-styled game with cards as pieces, and themed after angels. At the start of the game, you use 10 points to buy units, before deploying them onto the field. Each player chooses one of these is to be their King, but in secret. The goal is to be the first to capture the opposing unit chosen as the King. If the piece you capture turns out to be the one your opponent selected as the King at the start of the game, you win. If your secret King unit reaches the promotional zone, you may also choose to promote it into the King, which gives it more movement options, but outs itself as the target to capture.
