Description

Typhoon over the South Sea', the third installment of The Coming Wave series, featuring the south east Asia and South China Sea as the center stage. For more than 20 years, powers within this diverse region are undergoing constant struggle and corporations, and intervention from superpowers could easily sparked conflict. The Coming Wave series are a simulation system that portrays hypothetical conflicts in the near-future. The system focuses on modern and next-generation warfare, where the tempo and lethality of modern warfare are supplemented by a wide array of additional layers: from electronic warfare and cyber warfare, all the way to space warfare. Challenging the players to make decision to utilize all of their assets to the fullest in combined air-land-naval warfare. The regional powers of South China Sea had purchased a wealth of assets from multiple superpowers. As a result, in this struggle for island, reefs, and political bargaining chips, players can experience a wide array of equipment from multiple origins: F/A-18D, Su-27SK, F-16A, and even the aged Su-22 are all tossed into the fray. Unlike the previous installment of this series, it is a common sight for regional powers here to lack the full suite of combat assets. How to take control of the air, while lacking capable AEWAC support? Is it possible to survive an onslaught of bombers while lacking advanced area air defense ships? Players are challenged to use their limited assets to their best to complete their missions. The game has 5 scenarios, where 4 are single-map scenarios, and 1 double map scenario.
