Description

Dawn over the East Sea , second instalment of The Coming Wave series, moves to portray the intense air-naval conflict centred at the East China Sea and the first island chain. The Coming Wave series are a simulation system that portrays hypothetical conflicts in the near-future. The system focuses on modern and next-generation warfare, where the tempo and lethality of modern warfare are supplemented by a wide array of additional layers: from electronic warfare and cyber warfare, all the way to space warfare. Challenging the players to make decision to utilize all of their assets to the fullest in combined air-land-naval warfare. This game focuses on the operations around the unification of China, where Chinese gradually clears out the air and naval resistance from Taiwan, while also preparing the eventual showdown with American forces. The American player needs to make the most out of allies from the First island chain to contain Chinese forces and intervene with the Chinese operation, while the Chinese player conducts anti-intervention operations to ensure the smooth progress in the ground war, ensuring total unification. In these scenarios, United State sends three carrier battle groups to East China Sea for intervention, while China concentrates the cream of her naval forces: two carriers sortie out along the new 052DG and 055 class destroyers, tasked with the breakout from first island chain and become the vanguard of this anti-access/area denial operation at an unprecedented scale. Both sides are also supported by some of their best land-based strike assets, from long-range bombers including H-6, B-1B and B-2A to cruise and ballistic missiles, all for a single aim: the complete destruction of their opponent s combat capability. The game includes 6 scenarios, with 4 single-map scenarios, and 2 full 3-map scenarios arranged in story-arc format.
