How many days since March 14, 2020? That s how long the lockdown has lasted. Swiss-Canadian author Derek Schraner presents Hikikomori, an immersive lucky lockdown life simulator inspired by the concept of social isolation. It offers a unique approach to balancing daily activities. Players complete a series of simple minigames representing different aspects of day-to-day life. What makes the gameplay challenging are the ever-evolving rules. In this interactive experience, decisions made each day reveal how those rules change over time. Players will need six-sided dice and something to write with, as they record their progress and track various activities. At its core, Hikikomori is a meditation on balance. It explores the tension between conflicting obligations and the pursuit of fulfilment in routine. It is the culmination of the author s experience living this way for five years, offering personal reflection, and inviting you to share in the challenges and insights of the journey. —description from the designer
