Digvijaya is a three-player game in which religious movements adhering to Hinduism, Islam, and other faiths compete to convert the population of India over the centuries from 1000 to 1700 CE. One player represents Hindu reformers, another Muslim missionaries, and a third represents the tradition of trying to harmonize the two faiths. Players build their movements through cards that represent the means by which religions spread, from holy wars and messianic rebellions to temple-building, mystic poetry, and faith-healing. Movements begin as small but zealous bands of believers, then expand to encompass rulers, farmers, traders and tribes, but a movement whose theology strays too far from its origins will eventually stagnate and disappear. —description from the designer
