Sever is a territorial game of pure placement for two players – Black and White – played on an initially empty hexhex board. Starting with Black, the players take turns placing a stone of their color on an empty cell. When the board is full, the player with the higher score wins. Ties are not possible. Each stone is worth 1 point for its owner or their opponent depending on its adacency count. The adjacency count of a group is the number of groups adjacent to it. A group scores for the opponent of its owner if it is adjacent to a group with a higher adjacently count, otherwise it scores for its owner. Experienced players can use the pie rule to balance the game: One player places a black stone anywhere on the board, and the other player decides whether to play as Black or as White. —description from the designer
