In Overgrown, players attempt to reclaim an abandoned city with new growth and wildlife, while competing for the resources needed to do so. Inspired by tile-combination & match-3 games, Overgrown offers a fun twist on fighting the tide of tiles with clever placement and combination: each player determines the tiles their opponents receive from where they place their own tiles! You and your friends are the forces of nature, attempting to transform polluted and abandoned cities into lush paradises brimming with wildlife. Each turn, players gather the elements needed to regrow flora and reintroduce fauna from a shared pool. Unfortunately, the elements are limited and mixed in with pollution so not every city will fully revive. Unlike other tile-laying games, you control the drafting pool not only by what you take, but also how you use it, giving you plenty to think about as your city slowly recovers. At the end of the game, the player with the most verdant city is declared the winner. —description from the designer
