Trappers and Traders
2018
Published by Saskatchewan Archaeological Society
Trappers and Traders is based on possible trade interactions between four groups at South Branch House, an historic fur trade post in central Saskatchewan. Players are divided into four groups: Hudson's Bay Company Traders, North West Company Traders, First Nations Trading Party, and Metis Trading Party. Each group gets a set of 21 oversize colour coded cards representing the goods they have to trade. Each card has a picture and the name of the item in English, French, Cree, and Michif. Each group gets a checklist of the items they need to trade for and the groups begin negotiations to make trades. The first group to acquire all the items on their checklist wins.
