48 cards grouped together into 12 sets of 4. Sets are called 'Books' in such games by the publisher. Rules are similar to Quartet games nowadays. When asking for a card from another player, the questioner must state a country, the Book it comes from AND the population in that country. If the questioned player has that card he must pass to to the questioner. If he does not have the card he must draw a card from the deck and end his turn. The winner is the player with most books when all have been collected. Game must be made for trivia buffs with the population of countries in 1896 in their heads!!
