First, the homeowner couple distributes the 10 rings to any black diamonds on the game board. The 1st burglar starts, followed by the 1st homeowner, then the 2nd burglar and the 2nd homeowner. The homeowners start at A, the burglars at B. B is also the end space for the burglars. Each player can play with one or two dice as he sees fit. The burglars try to roll the black squares to get possession of the rings lying there. If this succeeds, the ring is placed on the burglar meeple. If a burglar has captured 3 rings, he tries to leave the house at B, and the winner is whoever manages to do so. The homeowners catch a burglar when their meeple lands on the space he occupies. This means that the burglar is eliminated from the game. The homeowners win, if if they capture both burglars. No burglar is allowed to enter or pass the space on which a homeowner stands. He must choose a different direction, if such an option was still open to him. —user summary
