Battle on the Sand is a miniatures game with real shooting. The game takes place on the Planet of Innosand, and a garrison of Empire infantry is trying to hold a fortress against a force of besieging militia. The players setup their forces 50cm apart and then roll for initiative. The side with the initiative then rolls a die for the number of action points they get. An action point can be used to: 1. Fire the walker or multigun. The multigun can only be fired a maximum of three times per turn. To fire the walker all friendly militia must be closer to the fortress than the walker, and for the multigun to fire the infantry must have a soldier within 5cm of it. 2. Move a walker, gun, or soldier 10cm. Moving up and down the stairs of the fortress costs 10cm. When enemy soldiers are at a range of 5cm or less to one another, they fight a melee. Both roll a die and the high side wins. To win the attackers must eliminate all enemy soldiers or capture the flag atop the fortress. The defenders win if they kill all enemy militia.
