Description

Introduction:Haugaz (from Proto-Germanic: Haugaz, which means "height, hill") is a board game for two players: Black and White. It is played on the intersections (points) of a square board with diagonal lines marked, with the board initially empty. The recommended board size is 6 points per side. Each player has access to a sufficient supply of stackable pieces of their own color. Definitions: A stack is a set of pieces stacked on top of each other. A single piece is also a stack. The height of a stack is the number of pieces it contains. Turns:Black plays first and then turns alternate. On your turn, you can either pass your turn or perform the following actions in the following order: Place a stack of height 1 on an empty point (called a 1-stack). Move a stack to an empty point in a straight line, either orthogonally or diagonally, at a distance equal to its height. You cannot move a stack that was just placed on that same turn. Increase the height by 1 of all friendly and enemy stacks that are at the same distance as the height of the stack you just moved, by placing an additional piece of the opposite color on these stacks. You can pass your turn before or after performing a placement. End of the game:The game ends when the players pass in consecutive turns. In case of a tie between the highest stacks, the next highest stacks are compared. To balance the game, before starting, the first player places a black stack of height 1 and a white stack of height 1 on any empty point, and the second player chooses a side. This balancing method is called the two-stack pie rule. –description from designer
