Each card represents a State of the USA; players compete to create a hand of four adjacent States or alternatively a hand of same colour States with the highest point value. From the designer's site: "In this colorful card game for children and adults, each card is a different state. You can't help but learn geography when playing STATES; instead of memorizing, you learn by understanding."
