Description

In Thailand, There is an attempt to create boardgames that use the Thai alphabet in a Scrabble like game and its name is Kham Khom (คำคม - meaning: epigram) Instead of using 26 English - Latin letters, the game uses the Thai alphabet. The Thai alphabet has 44 consonants , 20 vowels, 4 Diacritics and some symbols that are necessary in usage. The game uses only 42 consonants (At present, 2 of the 44 are dropped from being used) and drawn vowel tiles can be set aside and then can be played anytime in the turn without drawing. The rules of Kham Khom is some slightly different from Scrabble because the Thai alphabet has a more complex system than the English - Latin alphabet.
