Description

Blood & Chivalry is a set of miniatures rules designed especially for the Western European medieval period, approximately from the Dark Ages through the end of the Wars of the Roses. The author notes that 1000 point armies (approximately 100-120 figures) per side are manageable for a single player. Figures can be based individually (a la Warhammer) or based on stands (a la DBx). Movement is done using command points: each commander throws a four-sided dice for command points, which can be used to change orders of units within the leader's command radius. Combat is conducted by throwing a ten-sided dice per figure with a "10" causing a casualty. The following scenarios are included: "Supply Convoy Ambush" (Hundred Years War French attacking an English baggage train), "Relief of the Castle" (Hundred Years War French attacking an English force besieging a castle), "Breaking the Shieldwall, the Battle of Brunanburh" (English vs. Scotts and Welsh), and "Grandson" (Burgundians vs. Swiss).
