This is a chess variant for four players. The chess rules basically apply. Each player has three special figures: 2 tetra-pawns and 1 tetra-queen. The two tetra-pawns are placed in front of the rocks. the tetra-queen enters the game only when a tetra-pawn is promoted to a queen. The tetra-pawn may move up to three spaces straight ahead or up to two spaces diagonal ahead and may capture 1 or two spaces diagonal ahead. Ordinary pawns may not be promoted. The tetra-queen moves and captures like a queen and a knight. The players play in teams, white and black vs. green and red. The goal is to checkmate the two enemy kings. If only one king is mate it may be freed by his ally. An army may not move while it's king is mate. —user summary
