In Pot o' Gold II players compete to win four pots of unknown value. Each of the pots is initially seeded with three face cards from one of two standard decks of cards. The remainder of these cards are used to play the game - each player receives a hand of ten. On a turn a player plays any non-face card to a central pile; when the total value of the cards reaches 20 the player causing this gets an action (or two if they hit 20 exactly). Actions include placing a marker on a pot, moving a marker, looking at the cards in a pot, adding a face card to a pot, or re-rolling the die placed next to each pot, which will later subtract from its value. Play continues until two players have each used all five of their markers, at which point the pots are scored. The player with the most markers on a pot gets the full value, the player with the second most gets half value. The value of a pot is based on the die, the number of markers, and the cards in it.
