Description

Bidwise (one of two games in a article titled Suit Up!) is an auction game played using standard playing cards. Each player gets the 13 cards in one suit. The property cards to be bid on are the ace-10 of the remaining suit/another deck, and are placed face-up on the table. Each player shuffles their cards and each turn draws one and plays it. Cards are generally placed under property cards as bids of their face value; court cards can be bids worth five or can be used to remove an opposing bid card. When all cards have been played the player bidding the most for each property wins it. The player with the greatest total value of properties wins the game. A variant is given in which the bid cards can only be used on properties of matching value or one different.
