In Wizwords! one or more players gradually build up a crossword grid as the game progresses. (The box says "1+" but six seems like a reasonable maximum number of players.) On a turn a player draws a letter card and adds a word containing that letter to the grid, connected it to existing words as in Scrabble. The grid starts with no black squares; after the first turn a player's turn starts by covering letters in previous words with black tiles to leave shorter words, or incomplete words which they complete on their turn.
