Description

On December 4th, 1932, a Bolivian pilot named Rafael Pab n Cuevas shot down his Paraguayan adversary Trif n Ben tez Vera in what is known as the first aerial battle between two nations in South America. The game Combate a reo reenacts this fight. The game reenacts this battle on a map of 8 by 8 squares. Each player has a personal board with controls of their plane, plus a sketch of the enemy plane. On this they plan their movement and attacks, adjusting altitude, speed, zones of attack and so on. The players can use various tokens to mark their plans on their respective boards. Afterwards, the move their planes on the map. The relative position and altitude of the two planes determines the zones that can be attacked. Combat is modified by dice rolling. The goal is to either entirely destroy a section of the enemy plane, or deal enough damage overall to shoot it down. The game ends in a draw if both planes end up in the same position at the same altitude and crash.
