Description

(from the rulebook explanation) Wherry is a game of Watermanship on the Shakespearean Thames. In the merry but sometimes threatening ambiance of 16th century Elizabethan London, players of this game will re-enact the working lifestyle of a Thames Waterman (Wherryman). They will pick up passengers in their Wherries, from the various Landing Stairs situated along the riverbank and while rowing them to their destination, they will have to deal with the prevailing conditions of the tide, weather and other river hazards. They must also try to avoid colliding with other Wherries or with the Royal Barge and must give careful thought to the many chances and choices they will have during their voyaging up and down the river Thames.
