Description
The earliest recorded hunt game in Europe, Catch the Hare was mentioned in Libro de los Juegos (Book of Games) commissioned by Alfonso X in 1283. It is played on an alquerque board, with one side taking the part of a hare and the other taking 12 hunters. The hunters must trap the hare so that it cannot move; the hare must kill enough hunters to make their task impossible.
